SDConfigEx Port List not showing

I somehow lost the output window and Port List in SDConfigEx. Deleting all the Bar State keys in the Windows registry (per another post) got me the output window back, but I can't find any way to get the Port List back. I've tried different config files and views; Ports Available and defaults; completely uninstalling, deleting remnant files, and reinstalling all of CCS (5.3.0); nothing has worked. Anyone have any idea how to get it back? I am using: SDConfigEx Version 1.43.04 on Windows 7 Professional SP1

Matt,

I have never actually seen the port list disappear. Have you checked with Spectrum Digital? It is their pod and software.

Also, you should have another icon on your desktop for SDCONGIG (without the ex) does that one work?

One more thing. Did you try dragging the bar on the left side of the window towards the center of the window?

Hi Mathew,

this utility comes from Spectrum Digital. I am afraid I am going to have to ask you to get support from them. Hopefully they will be able to get your installation restored. Have you tried reinstalling as a thought?

Hi Howard,

I do not have the original sdconfig.exe installed anywhere on this computer (I searched the whole C: drive). Should CCS 5.3.0 have installed this? I did a complete reinstall (actually twice).

And I have tried stretching and pulling and dragging it every way possible.

I will try Spectrum Digital.

Hi Mat,

Just posting the results of our testing last night.

When the pane in the top left of sdconfigex shows up empty (IE, no ports listed), it appears to be due to a corrupted registry key value. The corruption seems to be any value that either points to a non-existant file or to a file that has something in it that SDCONFIGEX doesn't like.

Fix by editing the registry key and changing it back to its default value at installation:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Spectrum Digital\SdConfigEx\1.00\Views

CurrentView REG_SZ sdview_default.xml
