Invalid Install when trying to Update CCSv5

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CCSTUDIO

I was attempting to update from CCSv5.1.1 to whatever it caught when I ran Help->Check for Updates and I received an Invalid Install error that prompted me to post to this forum.  I have attached the contents.

I welcome your assistance.

Thanks,
Nick

  • Hi Nick,

a couple comments.  I would really recommend installing v5.4 with the full offline installer by itself rather than updating.

I had a very quick look at the logs and what it could be is that I see a C and  D drive.  The installer does not handle shared drives/mapped/virtual connections well at all.  Again ... I would also strongly be sure to unzip and install totally locally to a simple drive like c:/myccs and ensure antivirus is disabled.

Please give that a try and keep us informed.

    Best Regards,
    Lisa

  • Lisa,

Thank you for the quick reply.  I downloaded the full install, attempted to install at c:\ti but received the following error:

Invalid URL: Unable to access http://software-dl.ti.com/dsps/dsps_public_sw/sdo_ccstudio/CCSv5/CCS5.4.0.00091_win32. Check your settings and try again.

Any ideas about what to do are welcome.

    Thanks,
    Nick

  • Hi Nick,

what link did you use?   I believe the large button does not default to the full installer.  Try downloading very specifically the full installer in the list of four 5.4 versions.  But first, if you would like, please do two things

1 - please send the installation logs.  These are found in the installjammer registry directory.  The folder may be hidden and is under program files or program files (x86)

2 - check your proxy/antivirus settings for any interference

    Best Regards,
    Lisa

  • Got it!  The large button is on two pages, I was on the wrong one.  I downloaded the full off-line version and everything seems to be working great.

    Thank you, Lisa.
