Upgrade to 5.4

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CCSTUDIO

Dear CCS-User, I've upgraded CCS5.3 to 5.4 and installation went well. Now CCS is not starting anymore and an error message occurs:

"The Ccstudio executable launcher was unable to locate its companion launcher jar"

What does that mean and what I have to do?

Sincerely

Volker

  • Hi Volker,

I personally always choose a fresh full installation.  However, would you be able to send us the logs?  That way we would be able to look into the problem for you.  These are in the installjammer registry directory.  It may be hidden and is under program files or program files (x86).

    Typical things to watch for

    - antivirus/permissions issues/interference

    - installing across a shared driver/junction/virtual drive

    - there is a specific type of NVDIA graphics card which currently has a few incompatibilities

So these are a few things to consider but the logs will help us.

    Best Regards,

    Lisa

  • Hi Volker,

This message most likely means that ccstudio.ini file was not updated correctly or some jar files were not installed.

In CCSInstallRoot\ccsv5\eclipse directory, there should be ccstudio.exe and ccstudio.ini file. ccstudio.ini file should look like text below. Line in red is the important bit. It should look exactly like text below. However, this jar file is the same in 5.3 and 5.4, thus the other possibility is that this file is not in plugins directory. Could you check whether it exists in CCSInstallRoot\ccsv5\eclipse\plugins

  • Dear Martin,

that's it! The ini had the old link for the launcher and after typing the new number the ccs started well, but ask me again for the license file.

    Done!

    That was quick!

    Thanks and bye

    Volker

  • Dear Lisa,

Martin gave me the correct hint for a bad ubdate of the ini-file with a wrong link to the launcher. So it is allready solved, and thanks for helping me.

    Regards,

    Volker

  • Hi Volker,
