How can i get started using my MSP EXP430?

Hi!

First of all! I want to introduce myself. I'm an electrical engineer but i have long time without working with microcontrollers( I've forgotten many things related with microcontrollers). I used to work with PIC24. Now i purchased a launch pad MSP EXP430 but i'm not sure how i can get started to use it. I want to know if, Is there a C/C++ compiler like C30 for microchip pics that i can use with CCS? What is the best way to start? I hope you can help me.

The LaunchPad comes with Code Composer Studio (CCS), TI's integrated development environment. CCS includes the TI MSP430 C compiler. I suggest you get started with this wiki article.

Hi!

I'm doing my first program with launch pad MSP430 and trying to blink a LED. But I can't compile the program. The CCS show me an error but i don't know what it means. In the picture you can see what is the error. The file called libc.a is inside the folder especified by CCS. I don't know what happen. I hope you can help me!

The immediate problem is that your source file is named "main", with no file extension. Rename it "main.c".

The bigger problem is that you probably didn't start with one of the examples from here. Using those examples will keep you from making mistakes like this one.
