Debug processor selection in multiprocessor environment with CCS4

I had setup multiprocessor environment with two TMS320F28066 devices and using CCS 4.2.3.00004

Using Signum JTAGJetC2000

I could able to configure, connect and Flash programs into individual DSPs without any trouble. But I could not able to debug them.

Regardless of what device I clicked, it loads the debug program in to only first device in the daisy chain.

If i select first device for debug, the debug operation is fine.

If i select second device and click debug, it tries to load but the debug doesn't happen.

Can anyone confirm that, whether I can select any device and debug them independently in the multiprocessor environment.

Hi Bhaskar,

No you won't be able to do it. There'll be a conflict; so you'll have to use them individually.

Thanks for your reply.

I'm under the impression that, in a multicore chip, one can debug any core with the JTAG connected. I'm expecting the same for multiprocessor environment.

In my Multiprocessor setup, i could able to flash the individual DSP, by just selecting the device in the IDE (i'm getting issues sometimes, but suspecting it could be because of the cable length).

Debug is not consistent even with only one DSP connected (connect under target menu) and other DSP free running.

What are all JTAG based activities we can do in multiprocessor setup.
