Anomaly in optimization levels in TMS470 toolchain

Hi,

I am using CoreMark (processor benchmarking software) to measure the performance of AM335x SoC(cortex A-8 processor). For compiling, I am using TMS470 toolchain (TI v5.0.4) in ccs(5.4.0). I am getting a better score with O2 optimization level than with O3.

I tried compiling with gcc toolchains(CodeSorcery and Linaro) and I am getting the results as expected.

Hope you look into the issue.

  • We do not track performance of the TI compiler on Cortex-A8.  For Cortex-A based devices we recommend using gcc.  CCSv5.4 and later includes a version of gcc for baremetal applications on Cortex-A.

I apologize for the delayed response.

    Thanks and regards,
