Does c54x cgtool v4.2 support "Allocating .const to Program Memory" ?

Hi Champs,

I used c54x cgtools v4.2 and tried "Allocating .const to Program Memory" on page 6-4 in spru103g.
But the program didn't copy the .const section from program to data memory and v4.1.1 compiled program copied. I confirmed them on both of ccs v3.3 and ccs v5.3.
For rts rebuilding for boot routine modification, I followed instructions in the Release Notes when I used v4.2.

So, Could you please let me know why the program didn't copy the section from program to data, if you have any?

I don't see any changes in boot.asm between 4.1.1 and 4.2.0 that would have caused this problem. Could you post a test case that reproduces the problem? It might help if you also posted an executable file built with 4.1.1 and one with 4.2.0

This is a known linker bug, SDSCM00030700. For C5400, this bug occurs only in 4.2.x. As a workaround, you can use the linker from 4.1.1.

If you want to continue to use 4.2.0, you should change the code to use copy tables instead of the .label directive.

See TMS320C6000 Assembly Language Tools v7.4 User's Guide (SPRU186W) section 7-8 "Linker-Generated Copy Tables"; The C5400 linker version 4.2.0 should support copy tables in the same manner.

I could resolve this using table() operator and copy_in() function of the C5400 CGtools v4.2.0.
