code composser essential problem

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430F4270

i have installed code composser essential v3 .i try to program my on msp430f4270 board in past i am able to programme on same board useing ccsv3 but in present i got following error

"Tried to initialize USB FET number 1, but only found 0 USB FETs"

port setting is usb1,device setting is correct..

so what should be the problem???????????

  • Hi Karan,

first of all both versions you mention are old and no longer really supported.   I would recommend moving to the latest ccs version, v5.4.  Do a full fresh install with antivirus disabled.

Having said that, also note that while cce was for the msp430, only certain old families are supported.   ccsv3 was never compatible with the msp430.

  • but i have purchased that older version in past so i have to purchase new version???  and few months ago i could download on same board ????

  • Hi Karan,

if you do not have an active subscription, yes you would need to purchase a new license to start with the latest version.

Having said that, you say you were able to work with the board in the past?   What exact software/version are you using and what might have changed in your environment when you started getting the error?  Any details would help, but please note as I stated there is extremely limited support I can offer for these very very old versions.

  • thank you very much lisa,

i am not getting meaning of active subscription?? i have purchased that version so i have license........active subscription is differ than this??

  • Hi karan,

normally a license comes with 1 year of subscription.

After that you need to subscribe yearly.
