CCS 5.4 setup .bin file doesn't run

I downloaded the full offline install, did a chmod +x ccs_setup_5.4.0.00091.bin and ran the .bin setup file as me and sudo. Each time it simply returns back to the shell prompt, no windows open up, it doesn't do a thing.

I'm running Ubuntu Raring 13.04 on a Macbook Pro Early 2011 model.

Any ideas?

Hi Joel,

hmm I am wondering whether it being a MAC is the issue here. We don't support MACs for installation.

Having said that, did you follow this page and ensure you have all dependancies satisfied?

Could you send the installjammer installation logs (if any started being generated)

Thanks for your quick response!

I installed the dependencies and it installed and loads up. The problem I now have is it won't find the MSP430G2 LaunchPad. Although using mspdebug from the command line I can use the rf2500 driver to access the LaunchPad, ie, read and write to the MSP430.

Are there any changes I need to make to have that work?

Hi Joel,

unfortunately not. the launchpad is not supported in Linux. It is something being looked at for future launchpad releases.
