Add Processor Support Post Installation

Is it possible to add Processor Support to an existing Installation of Code Composer?  I want to add Stellaris Cortex M MCUs. A quick reply would be really appreciated.

  • Hi,

what is your current version?   You should be able to rerun the installer to the same directory, select "repair" and add stellaris support.

Please let us know how that goes.

    Best Regards,
    Lisa

  • I have Version: 5.4.0.00091 . The installer does not give me an option to do a "repair" install. I only have the option to uninstall it. This happens when I click "uninstall_CCSv5.exe" in my ccsv5 folder.

  • Hi,

if you run the installer to the same directory, you should be able to get the repair option/add device support.  Could you send screen captures?  That uninstall exe is not the correct method, you need the installer.

  • Hi,

just wanted to double check for any updates to your enquiry.

  • Unable to add new device support into an updated CCS5.4 instillation. The  5.4 setup wizard detects the previous 5.4 upgraded installation suggesting to intstall an alternate location where it once again displays the same error message.

Seems it should be possible to add additional device support without doing a new retrograde installation. Especially true as in my case the C2000.jar file is expanded in the setup files but not yet extracted.

  • Oddly a repair of the VS2012 runtime allowed the CCS5 installer to place a parallel on the D: drive with the needed device support packages. Additional launches allowed other device packages to the fresh CCS5 installation only warning of the other installation on C: drive.
