How to make CCS v5.4 support a second kind of development kit?

Hi,

My computer has CCS v5.4 bundled version for C6678 EVM. The computer is a Windows 7 OS, 64 bit. I would like to make this CCS v5.4 support "TMDX5535EZDSP - C5535 eZdsp USB Stick Development Kit" in addition to the C6678 EVM. Is it possible? What are the procedures to do that?

Thanks,

  • Hello,

The only thing you need to check is if you have the components for C5000 installed along with the C6000 components you have. If you did a full install, you should have it. If you did a custom install for C6000 only, you would not. You can rerun the installer to add the C5000 components to your existing install.

    Thanks

  • Hi,

My computer (Windows 7, 64 bit) is installed C55 files. I can compile C55 project, using software simulator for C55. Please also see the installation status from Help menu:

When I try to use ezDSP XDS100 emulator, I select a C55 target, see below image:

    but it cannot debug, shown

Another problem is about the blink LED project. It mentions on CCSv4 path. I do not find it on my CCS v5.4 path yet.

Select “Select Root Directory” and click the “Browse” button. Browse to directory
    path “<Install_Dir>\ccsv4\emulation\boards\ezdsp5535_v1\tests\led”.

Please help me on eZdsp setup. Thanks,

  • Sorry, I have to add more info. Does XDS100 use the same USB cable which in play audio demo (connect J1 to PC USB port)? Do I have to remove the SD flash from eZdsp 5535 for using emulator?

    Thanks,

  • Hi,

XDS100 driver is installed now (use J2 USB port), see picture:

but it still shows "Error initializing emulator" as previous post shows. What is wrong now?

    Thanks

  • Robert,

You are using the wrong connection type. You should be using the one for XDS100v2, not the Spectrum on-board USB emulation (this option applies to onboard XDS510 emulation).

    Thanks

  • It is TI XDS100,  not SD product. solved.
