Hi Richard,
there seems to be a problem with the installer downloading any components. This could be a proxy issue, however as you are trying to pull many updates to an older version, our best advice would be a full fresh installation. Please keep the following in mind
- please use the full offline installer (this is not the large button on the download page but slightly further down)
- please disable antivirus
- fully unzip and install to a new simple directory like c:/mycss for example
Please keep us informed.
Best Regards,
Lisa
Lisa,
I did a full install, per your recommendation.
The installation went OK, but there is a problem with the emulator. I opened an existing workspace, went to debug the code and got these errors:
CortexR4: GEL Output: Memory Map Setup for Flash @ Address 0x0
CortexR4: GEL: File: C:\Users\dermanr\Documents\RuthStuff\Projects\TMS570_projects\GenApp\Debug\GenApp.out Does not match the target endianness, not loaded. Check build options and target configuration file (ccxml).
CortexR4: Trouble Reading Register REG_ENDIAN: (Error -150 @ 0x8C) One of the FTDI driver functions used during configuration returned a invalid status or an error. (Emulation package 5.0.872.0)
CortexR4: Trouble Reading Register REG_ENDIAN: (Error -1044 @ 0xFFFFFF0E) The emulator reported an error. Confirm emulator configuration and connections, reset the emulator, and retry the operation. (Emulation package 5.0.872.0)
If I close out CCS 5.3 and open CCS 5.2 with the same workspace, I can debug with no issues.
My target is a TI development board (TMS570LS1x Control Card)
The emulator in question is the TI XDS100v2 USB Emulator/CortexR4
What needs to be done so I can use CCS5.3 with this TI developoment board?

Hi Rick,
as a first step I would recommend importing to project to a new v5.4 workspace instead of recycling the workspace.
Best Regards,
Lisa
Lisa,
I am part of a team that is currently using v5.3., so v5.4 is not currently an option. However, I will try importing the project into a 5.3 workspace and let you know what happens.
Thanks,
Rick
Hi Rick,
hmm there are likely some backward compatibility issues. The best would be if you could all use the v5.2 project but import it to a workspace created by either v5.2 for those users or v5.3 for those users or v5.4 for any users. I would still recommend importing. Please keep us informed.
Best Regards,
Lisa
Lisa,
Importing the project seemed to take care of my issues. The tools are currently working well. Thanks for your help.

Hi Rick,
very happy to hear and thanks for the update.
All the best with development.
