Installation of CCS failed...(very important problem)

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CCSTUDIO, TMS320F28335

Hi,

I used before a free version of CCS which was a 5.0 version. But then, I've installed a free version of CCS (v5.3.0) and I bought a complete version of CCS(v5.3.0). I am on Windows with 7zip, IZARC first and then without 7zip and Izarc.

My problem is that installation successed with 5.0 (FREE version) whereas it failed with 5.3 (FREE and licenced) and I need a solution because the limited free version is not sufficient for my software.... What is written during installation is (first failure) :

"Installing com.ti.ccstudio.idemain.feature.group 5.3.0201211071700
Installation failed
Installation failed
Installation failed
Installation failed"

In fact, I can run CCS but when it is opening there is only the Eclipse logo. Then when I try to create a CCS project for C2000 family there is no way to choose the C2000 family and the device concerned which is TMS320F28335 because there is only C5000 and C6000. And on top of that, if I try to choose C5000 or C6000, entering a project name and co, the Finish button keeps in gray, I can't create any CCS project. It is a really great problem.

Thank you to help me

  • Hi,

Did you uninstall the previous CCS? Its very important to remove it completely before installing the new one !
By not doing so, some kind of conflict might be happening.

  • Yes I know it and I did it, it is the same for any software to install ! But I don't know if this operation has remove everything on my computer. I just know that here is no more ccsv5 in its basis folder. I think it is really a problem between the number of versions because there is no problem with 5.1 but 5.3 never works! Maybe something in 5.3 is not stable to unzip with my PC at the moment of installation ?

  • I agree with you, Cedric! CCS v5.3 is very unstable. I faced the same issue too and yes you'll have to remove all the registries and stuffs.

  • Hi Cedric,

    please try the following

1 - remove your old installs including the logs in the installjammer registry directory.  This folder may be hidden and is under program files or program files (x86).

    2 - download the full v5.4 installer

3 - fully unzip and install locally to a simple directory (eg c:/ti or c:/myccs) with antivirus disabled

Please let us know how the above goes and should the new attempt fail, please send us the logs.

    Best Regards,

    Lisa

  • Hi,

I have uninstalled the 5.3 and I have dowloaded a 5.1 version because with the problem with the 5.3 I can't rely on the upper versions of CCS...And I have no time to spend with tests. It is desappointing because CCS is just a software and the big time to spend is not on installation but on development. So in conclusion, I've downloaded and installed a 5.1 version and it works fine. Thank you for all your answers. Have a good day.

  • Hi Cedric,

ok, all the best with development.   Appologies it has been inconvenient for you.

    Best Regards,

    Lisa
