TM4C123G support on CCS 5.4

Hi Ki,

I have 2 licenses; one on a laptop and another on a desktop. I updated the laptop to ccsV5.4. I think it was 5.1 before the update. The update of that license shows the TM4C variants.

On the desktop, a completely different license, ccs was updated to V5.4 (again, I think it was 5.1 before) on 7/8/13. I had not started a new project on the desktop, so did not look to see what the variants list had. Today, I tried to create a new project on the desktop, but the TM4C variants are not listed. I then checked for updates for the desktop license to see if that was the problem. Updates were found, and I updated the desktop license today (8/19/13). After the update completed, the variants list still did not show the TM4C variants.

For the CCS on your desktop, did you ever see the TM4C variants (before the update)? I wondering if you did a custom install on your desktop and did not install the TM4C components in the first place

CCS was installed before TM4C or Tiva existed.

Most likely you CCS install is missing the tiva components. You can confirm this by looking in:

.\ccsv5\ccs_base\common\targetdb\devices

and looking for files that start with 'tm4c123*.xml". If you don't see any, then you don't have Tiva support.

Unfortunately you can only repair/add components to an existing CCS install if you didn't update it. Since you applied a patch, you may unfortunately have to reinstall 5.4 from scratch.

Before you uninstall, please update your compiler version to the latest available. Tiva also has a dependency on the compiler version and that may also be preventing you from selecting Tiva. try this first (less painful than a full reinstall)!

How do I update the compiler version?

If you run 'Help -> Check for Updates', it should check for new compiler versions. ARM 5.0.6 update is the latest I see

When I run check updates, it shows that there are no new updates. As I said before, I ran the updates this morning. I assume that everything is now updated to the latest.

Can I "blow away" the ccsv5 folder and install from scratch?
