CCSv5.4.0: How to download MSP430 CGT 4.2.x?

Hi,

I'm using CCS 5.4.0.00091 (Win7-32). So far I always was able to download and update MSP430 code generation tools through Help -> Check for Updates or to upgrade to new minor releases through Help -> Install New Software... .

I tried to get the new MSP430 CGT 4.2.x minor releases but they are not shown? (http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Production_Compiler_Releases)

    Here's a note:

     
    Code Generation Tools for Texas Instruments Processors
    Including Linux® Hosted Tools

    Free downloads of TI Code Generation Tools for many instruction set architectures produced by TI are available here. These tools run on Linux x86, Windows XP, and Windows Vista hosts.

    Direct support is not available for these tools without the purchase of a production license, but there are community forums available for TI products. To obtain support and a production license, please purchase the appropriate Code Composer Studio version for your processor of interest.

    If you already have a CCS production license, you may obtain production licensed versions of these tools from within CCS itself. The Help menu in CCS contains an option to update these tools for new minor releases. New major releases can also be obtained from the Help menu as new features/software.

    Unfortunately, the MSP430 code generation tools are not availabe stand-alone. You have to use CCS build-in update mechanism to get updates/upgrades.

    I have an active and valid production license (Code Composer Studio IDE - Microcontroller - Node Locked Single User)

    Good. For resolving your issue here are the steps:

    Be-friend Lisa Ti from TOP TI contributors.

    PM her your CGT issue. She'll be solving it offline; according to some of her previous posts.

    Hi Christian,

    is there a specific reason you are looking for that compiler version?    If it is not found it is likely not released to updates by the msp team quite yet.   I am going to check in my installation to see what is found.

    If there is a real need, as Gautam mentioned, we should be able to connect offline to set you up once I get permission.

    it looks like the latest released is 4.1.7.   Is there a specific reason you currently require newer than that version?
