XDS200 Connection failure

Hi,

I am troubling to use XDS200 Emulator with CCS5.4.

I could not connect to XDS200 Emulator to the target.

When I executed the Test Connection, I had the below result.

--------------------------------------------------------

Result]

-----[Print the board config pathname(s)]------------------------------------

C:\DOCUME~1\KTL329\LOCALS~1\APPLIC~1\.TI\
    693494126\0\0\BrdDat\testBoard.dat

-----[Print the reset-command software log-file]-----------------------------

This utility has selected a 560/2xx-class product.
This utility will load the program 'xds2xxu.out'.
E_RPCENV_IO_ERROR(-6) No connection: DTC_IO_Open::dtc_io
Failed to open i/o connection (xds2xxu:0)

An error occurred while soft opening the controller.

-----[An error has occurred and this utility has aborted]--------------------

This error is generated by TI's USCIF driver or utilities.

The value is '-250' (0xffffff06).
The title is 'SC_ERR_ECOM_EMUNAME'.

The explanation is:
An attempt to access the named emulator via USCIF ECOM has failed.

[End]

-----------------------------------------

Also I checked the device manager. Please see the below.

So I think the driver installation is no problem.

And then, I had failure message as the below when I tried to connect to the target.

I don't know what is the wrong.

 Please advise me.

Best regards,

Michi

  • Hi,

Did you try to test the emulator on a different PC? There might be a possibility of some damage to the emulator.

    Regards,

    Gautam

  • Dear Gautam-san,

    Thank you for your reply.

Regarding your question, my answer is Yes. I tried this emulator on different PC. The emulator could connect to its PC. And also this emulator could connect to the target correctly.

Do you have any idea for solving this issue?

    Best regards,

    Michi

  • Michi-San, I guess then its a bad news. Emulator might've got bricked/spoilt. If possible try it on a different OS, Win7 if possible (for the confirmation).

    Regards,

    Gautam

  • Michi-san,

Just adding to Gautam's reply, are any of the LEDs on the emulator lit when you connect it to the USB port? Check the unboxing video that shows this.

If not, then I think the emulator is somehow not getting enough power from the USB port (as you said it works in someone else's PC).

If they are lit, then it is possible the device drivers may be at fault. You could try to uninstall and reinstall them (check this thread for some insights).

Apart from this I am really not sure what may be happening in your case. Per your description it really seems that things should be working.

    Regards,

    Rafael
