Post-Installation Internal Errors

Hello,

I just finished installing the latest free version of Code Composer (v5.4) using the offline installer for Windows. When installing the program, I chose the option to install the complete package and disabled the installation choices “XDS560”, “Spectrum Digital” and “Blackhawk".

As soon as the installation was finished, I ran Code Composer and I received an error message that read:

"An internal error occurred during:

CrashTrackerJob

License Acquisition

Loading device information"

I have attached three images with the details associated with each error message. I am currently using a 2009 MacBook Pro with Windows 7 Ultimate using Parallels as my virtual machine and I made sure to check/install all CCS software updates. Also, it should be worth noting that I tried to click on "Help\Code Composer Studio Licensing Information" and the button would not work.

Any help is greatly appreciated for I am completely new to Code Composer.

Thank you in advance,

Julio

  • Hi,

The above description in short conveys that the installation was not properly performed by the installer. Did you try with the custom installation?

  • Hi Julio

    a few things

1 - did you keep the installation and license file completely within the VM?  You will have problems if any part of the installation/ccs sees outside the VM environment as MAC OS is not supported

2 - you are using an xds560?  This emulator is only supported in the free limited license as part of an on board mezzanine card on various evaluation kits.  A stand alone xds560 requires a full license

3 - Do you see this error every start up?   Where is the license file location?

4 - could you send any error logs or dump files generated?  These would be things like .dmp files or hs_err......log files.

    Best Regards,
    Lisa

  • Hello all,

I have the same problem. It started after the power failure on the computer. After i have restarted the computer I couldn't start the CCS using the workspace that I was working on. I have tried to delete .metadata folder. After that, CCS could start but I receive the same error message the one described above.

I am using full license fro CCS v5 (it's a floating license which is obtained by a server).

  • What does your license info say? Also, is complete uninstallation possible with the current situation?

Did you you try with a fresh installation?

    Regards,

    Gautam

  • I have solved the problem by reinstalling CCS. But it was very strange the way it appeared.

  • I was having the same issue. In fact, when I tried to open up an existing workspace, it would completely hang.

I tried opening various executables in the directories related to the error messages' DLLs, and found that they complained about MSVCR110.dll. A bit of Googling for that error led me to try repairing the Windows Essentials 2012 package. See here: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windowslive/forum/livemail-wlinstall/that-damn-msvcr110dll-file/257c141e-f398-4341-9479-1881c991138c

    Note: I'm using Win7 x64

    Here's what I did:
Start > "Uninstall a program" > Windows Essentials 2012 > Repair All Windows Essentials Programs

CCS ran fine after and prompted me to select a license.
