CCS 5.5 update from 5.4 fails

Hi,

I have several problems updating my CCS 5.4 to 5.5.

After trying to update via CCS "search for updates" menu und selecting the 5.5 service patch, CCS was restarted, but then the update stopped with an error (unfortunately, I did not save the error message).

I simply restarted CCS and searched again for updates, but now CCS told me the available software sites were empty.

I downloaded the xml file with available software sites from another post here in the forum, got the sites back and searched again for updates. Now I was told that there are no updates available.

Reagarding to other posts here in the forum, the only way in this situation seems to be a clean install.

So I tried to download the full offline version from http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Download_CCS

This always leads to my Account login with an endless loop, no download possible.

I have a valid subscription.

So how can I update now?

I have similar errors for several updates now. Every time I had to do a full install. When will these problems be resolved?

  • Stephan I will send you a private message with a link to the download file so that you don't need to go through that login.

  • Stephan,

I am sorry you have run into an update problems more than once. I would like to determine why updates are so problematic in your environment.

To start with, would you be able to zip up and post your installer logs here?  The log folder is located in  C:\Program Files (x86)\InstallJammer Registry\ccsv5. The folder may be hidden.

  • Hi there,

I have similar problems with updates.

I had also problems downloading the zip-installer. But I've solved it by following these instructions http://focus.ti.com/en/graphics/dsp/shared/IE_8_downloads.pdf

With Firefox download doesn't work at all.

The following problems occur while installation:

    • I get an error message which claimes that I have a McAfee firewall running but I have not.
    • Then I get an error message that says that a reboot is pending and this may cause problems.
This message appears even if I make a reboot.
    • Then I get several "Installation failed" messages until the installation feezes

I hope I could help you a little bit and maybe anyone can help me.

  • Andy,

I have sent you the logs via direct mail.

I would appreciate a solution that prevents those update errors in the future.

  • Thanks John, got the link and downloaded ccs 5.5.

Now I will have to do a clean install into a new folder again ...
