Hi
The CCS update failed. I think there was a problem with eclipse installation. I have attached the zip file of the install jammers registry as advised by the message when the update failed. Please let me know what to do.
Thank you

Hi Gautam
I don't quite understand. When you say changing the directory where should I change it to? I am logged in as administrator on the computer. Because the update failed during installation now I cannot run CCs5 compile tools and it doesn't allow me to update anymore as it thinks the compile tools have been updated.
Can you please elaborate.
Thank you
Manjula
Here's a brief description:
1. Uninstall CCS completely (You can avoid this step too)
2. Launch CCS_setup.exe by Right clicking on the exe file and clicking on "Run As Administrator"
3. "Fresh installation", where you'll be installing CCS @ a new location for eg. C:\tinew (C:\ti is default)
Do revert if you still face any problem :)

Gautam
Hi Gautam
Thank you for this. I am now doing a fresh installation which is a bit of a pain. I have had this happen before where the updates have failed half way through and I've had to do a fresh installation. Now I am upto c:/ti3
I think Eclipse causes these problems when trying to update. Have you had similar feedback from other users?
It would be interesting to find out why the update actually failed.
Thanks and best regards
Manjula
Hi,
Updates do fail sometimes thus creating an unstable environment. These failures can occur due to many reasons!
For eg. check this thread: http://e2e.ti.com/support/development_tools/code_composer_studio/f/81/t/230998.aspx
http://e2e.ti.com/support/development_tools/code_composer_studio/f/81/t/286034.aspx
Similarly, go through few more threads in this forum. They might help you solve your issue.

Gautam
Manjula,
From the logs, it looks like your anti-virus software was blocking access to a file. Can you tell us what AV software you are using?
Unfortunately for us, there is no foolproof way to detect when this is going to happen before you do an update or to prevent it from happening during the update.
Hi Andy
This is most possibly the cause. At the time I thought though that I exited the AV during the installation. I am using COMODO which is a very good AV and it will jump at anything that is unrecognized.
I am installing again now and have exited the AV.
Thanks for your help
Manjula
