ccsv5 on linux, hardware trace analyzer problem

Hi,

I'm running ccsv5.5 on linux and trying to run tools->hardware trace analyzer->PC trace. My setup is xds560v2 with pandaboard (omap4430 es2.1). The problem is that after I clicked the "start" in the PC trace configuration dialog, it poped out an error saying "Could not run analyzer on CortexA9_0. Cause: unable to select receiver". I didn't changed any default settings. I used the default .ccxml target configuration file for pandaboard. It has a CSETB_0 device at address 0x54162000, with TraceDeviceId 0x0, and with NO initialization script.

Please help! Thank you.

Hi,

I can reproduce this issue here with several core processors, therefore it seems there is something else wrong with Trace on Linux. I will check some additional details and see if there is a workaround to it.

Unfortunately I couldn't find a workaround. I filed the bug number SDSCM00048597 and it is under investigation by the development team.

Please try doing a clean install of CCS 5.5.0.00077. Originally I had reproduced this problem using a CCS 5.5 environment that had been upgraded from 5.4 using the update manager. After doing a clean install of 5.5.0.00077 I can no longer reproduce the problem. We are still investigating the root cause.

Jason,

How did you install it? Was it as a superuser or a regular user? Also, did you run it from a fresh Linux install or a current one?

The reason is because I did not perform an upgrade and was still able to reproduce this issue, but maybe other files are causing interference.

Neither did I perform an upgrade. I installed 5.5.0.00077 as a regular user.

I also tried this: select csstm_0 in debug view->scripts->stm_utility->Setup_STM_Clocking_Modes_ES1 & EnableTraceFunnelforETB, but when I launched "pc trace" with ETB as receiver, I still got the same error message saying "unable to select receiver".
