The difference between .ae66 and .lib files

As I wrote above:the library files's format that TI delivered are .a, like .ae66. But what we build by ccs5 are .lib. I'm wondering if they can be interchanged? And what the differences between them? How does these differences influence the project?

Yes, they are compatible. The filename extension on the the library is arbitrary; some packages ship libraries for multiple targets, and use the .ae66 naming scheme to keep track of which libraries are built for which target. The .ae66 file is an ELF file built for C66x.
