ccs 5 c5535 windows 8

I bought the c5535 around a two months ago. However I have bought a new computer which has windows 8 so downloaded the CCSv5 as I read on another post this version is compatiable.

However my problem is that it is asking for an activation code and am not sure what to put in or if I even have one. Any ideas on what to do?

Thanks

  • Hi Mayur,

first of all activation codes are really only with purchased licenses.

If you have an EVM, chances are it's emulator will be compatible with the free limited license (limitation being hardware allowed).  Go to Help->Code Composer Studio Licensing Information and in the Upgrade Tab select "Free Limited License".

Otherwise I am afraid you will need to select the demo, use an xds100 emulator,  or purchase a license.

    Please keep us informed.

  • Hi Lisa,

Sorry it has taken so long to reply been really busy!

This did sort it out. It was the limited license I received. I have the ezDSP c5535, I don't suppose you know how long the license lasts for?

  • Hi Mayur,

glad that helped.   If you mean you are on a trial license, normally 90 days.  The "free limited license" has no expiry, however, as mentioned only works with certain hardware.  Specifically it is for the xds100 and certain evaluation kits.

    Hope this helps.

    Best Regards,
