Error in connecting to target

Hi,

I'm getting above message more than thrice while establishing a connection to EVM OMAP-L138 Development Kit.  I need  to Press  the reset switch and click the “retry” button more than thrice to establish a connection .Why this is happening and also how to solve this issue.

    Hi Sabitha,

    Getting connection error every time is not a usual one. It happenned for me occassionally.

    If the USB emulator is not detected by the host or delay in detecting or improper/loose connection to the target board may also cause this connection failure frequently. On a safer side, please do check that you are not using USB cables which are faulty. And also, if you disconnect the emulator abruptly from the target when the CCS is running the executable, (i.e., without killing/stopping the project at CCS) may cause this problem.

    Once experienced this problem, make sure the sequence of connecting the emulator to the host/target, power on the target, flashing and running through CCS are appropriate. Run the "Test connection" before proceeding to run a program on target. Using target configuration file, *.cxml, you can check the connection through the option "Test connection"

    Let us know how it goes and whether you succedded without any frequent errors.

    Hi,

    I have experienced similar behavior with the LogicPD OMAPL138EVM.

    It's no more possible to establish contact with the onboard emulator because of endless OnTargetConnect() process. I must every time disconnect the board, reload debug configuration and only then connect the board.

    It happens after the installation of the freshest TI emulator update 5.1.320.0.
