clarification needed regarding CCS v5.4 compiler version

I could see an option to choose compiler version while using CCS. I am using CCSv5.4 when i compile a code , code size is about 25% percentage more compared to compiling with CCS V4.2.4. Observe compiler version used in CCS 5.4 is version 4.2.1 instead of code generation tool version 3.3.3 seen CCS4.2.4

a) why there is a increase in code size for CCS5.4?

b)Is there option to select different code generation version for CCSv5.4, if so, how?

yes i have enabled code optimization to level 4.

i need move back to code generation tool v3.3.3 in CCStudio V5.4 which is used in CCSv4.2.4.

i didn't find compiler for MSP430 controller.

Try:

Help -> Software Updates -> Find and Install...

Select "Search for new features to install" and press next. If the code generation tools are in this list then you can select them and retry the update process.

i have Code Generation Tools 3.3.3 installed. now i want include it in CCStudio v 5.4

please give me the steps to do it.

i gone through the link . i have included code generation tool 3.3.3 on CCstudio 5.4 . but when try to build using this compiler , end up with the linker error.

Editing the .cmd file would resolve your issues. For more info on this topic you refer linker user guide available for msp430.
