XDS100

Hello.

I want to make by myself a XDS100V3 based on the schematic proposed by TI.

Can I use the XR21V1412IL32-F from EXAR instead of FTDI2232H?

  • Hi,

The only thing you need to check is pin compatibility and the feature/application set. Both of them being for USB interface, checking pin configurations and electrical characteristics would do the job.

  • Hi,

Unfortunately electrical and functional compatibility are not the only details required for the emulator to work; device driver compatibility is also required (both from the OS and from CCS). Although OS drivers are available, it is almost certain that CCS drivers are incompatible and thus this does not work.

As a general statement, we officially do not support modifications to the XDS100 reference design. What this means is that you are free to try your own, but we will not be able to help you in your venture.

    Regards,

    Rafael
