Hi,
I was forced to switch computers and decided to upgrade from CCS 4 to latest CC5.
I'm working with DRV8312EVM Rev D.
And now I cannot connect to target.
After installing CCS v5 I imported all the example projects:
C:\ti\motorware\motorware_1_01_00_10\sw\solutions\instaspin_foc\boards\drv8312kit_revD\f28x\f2806xF\projects\ccs5\*
and I created a new Target in Target Configurations view:
- Connection:Texas Instruments XDS100v1 USB Emulator
- Board or Device: TMS320F28035
I then open the Debug view and see:
Texas Instruments XDS100v1 USB Emulator_0/C28xx (Disconnected : Unknown) Texas Instruments XDS100v1 USB Emulator_0/CLA_0 (Disconnected : Unknown)
Texas Instruments XDS100v1 USB Emulator_0/C28xx (Disconnected : Unknown)
Texas Instruments XDS100v1 USB Emulator_0/CLA_0 (Disconnected : Unknown)
I right click on the C28xx line and select Connect from the popup menu and I get this error:
C28xx: Error connecting to the target: (Error -1135 @ 0x0) The emulator reported an error. Confirm emulator configuration and connections, reset the emulator, and retry the operation. (Emulation package 5.1.232.0)
I go to the Windows (7) Device Manager and I see that board is connected as:
Texas Instruments XDS100+RS232 V1.0/properties/Hardware
TI XDS100 Channel A
TI XDS100 Channel B
USB Composite Device
USB Serial Port (COM12)
Device is working properly
So any ideas how to proceed to find out what am I doing wrong?
Dejavualloveragain .... I think I was in this spot half a year ago.

PS why the example projects is/has f2806xF and 2806xF but no f28035?
Any chance that the COM port number between Device Manager and CCS don't match? I'm going to move this thread to the CCS forum, so that hopefully we can get you the solution.
Best regards,

I don't know. One thing you could try is setting every COM number 1-11 in Device Manager, and seeing if things work in CCS through trial and error. To do that, you expand "Ports" in Device Manager, double click USB Serial Port, Port Settings tab, Advanced button, select COMx from the dropdown menu.
I also see in the CCS properties under the "CCS General" section, there's a dropdown for "Connection" that has different USB options. I'm a CCS novice, so I'm really just guessing.
Best regards,
