Should workspace/.metadata be under version control?

I've inherited a CCS 5.5 project that has the workspace/.metadata directory under revision control (we are using SVN).  I'd like to remove the directory from version control but want to be sure that I can rebuild a project after a clean checkout and get the same output hex/executable file if I don't have workspace/.metadata  under SVN.  Anyone know?

The following FAQ lists files the should/shouldn't be under version control but doesn't mention .metadata.

Thanks very much,

Matt
