Can't open GUI composer project

Hello,

I'm working on my first GUI composer project and it's the third times that I have the same problem.

I'm able to create a new project and it works. Howerver, when I close CCS and open it again, I can't open the html file. The loading symbol turns all the time and nothing happens. If i try to open the GUI composer project with View->Applications, I receive the error message below :

I can see my project in GUI composer :

Currently, my GUI composer project seems to be located at C:\Users\sd\workspace_v5_5\.GUIComposerWS\AS1195_GUI_V00

I'm working with CCS 5.5.

Hi Sebastien,

For the 404 error, the view is looking for the app.html file. And in your picture, it doesn't look like you have this file in your project. app.html file is the entry point where GUI Composer will look for when starting the app. This file is required to be present in your project.

Regarding the designer not loading the project. How did you get those projects into the workspace?

Hi Patrick,

I don't know how i get those project into the workspace. When I create a new GUI composer project, it is automatically saved in the workspace. How can I change that? and Where am I suppose to have them ?

The projects are in the right place. By looking at your project files, the one that is expanded doesn't have the app.html. Did you renamed the app.html files to the one that you have right now?

Also, the 3 projects that you have shouldn't be visible like the way you have in your screen capture. It should only show the contents of the project and not the project folders. The GUI Composer workspace seems to be corrupted some how.

To clean this up, you can delete (backup) the .GUIComposer folder and recreate the project again. After the project is created, you can than copy the html files over to the .GUIComposer folder. Only the html files.

Do one project at a time. Shutdown CCS and restart, see if you still see the spinner icon when GUI Composer is restart.

Hi Patrick,

Yes, I renames app.html file to AS1195.html. May be it's not very useful.

I tried 2 times what you suggested and the second one it worked. I copied app.html file, however all the binding variables were not copied. It's not a too long work to do.

Hi Patrick,

I added all the binding variable but the GUI doesn't work.

I checkek app.html and app.json and they seem to be OK.

What could be the problem?

Can you tell me what doesn't work? Can you take a screen capture of your project and the app?

In fact, nothing is working.

- Buttons

- Text to watch vars

-etc...

On this picture, only one state of the state machine should be coloured (visible).

in this example, gMOTdrivecom.ui16Drivecom_sts = 0x0027 so in the state machine, only "Operation Enabled" should be green.

Only the warning symbol for the output 2 should be visible.

Motion commands buttons should work.

Values are missing in motion time (see gMOTstatus.iqMvtTime_open_90deg and gMOTstatus.iqMvtTime_open_80deg).

All of these worked well before my issue with GUI composer.

Good news, I simply add a new button in the GUI composer project, and averything is working now.

It seems that something has been unblocked with this action.

Good to hear you are able to get things going. It is a puzzle to me why adding a button make things work for you. If you happen to find out the reason, please let us know.
