GUI Composer - passing symbols to text box

Hi,

Is there any way to pass a symbol as a string to a text box / text area?

I am able to paste symbols in the widget's "Text" field and they appear correctly in preview.

The question is how to pass them as bounded "Value" from the application (if possible at all).

Hi Ran,

Did you use the widgets under the GUI Composer category in the Palette? You should be able to bound these widgets to your target variable.

Hi Patrick,

Yes, I'm using a text area from the widgets and am able to bound variables from the target.

If I put a "regular" string in the variable i see it in the text box.

My question is how to display a bound string variable which contains symbols such as greek letters or shapes like triangles and rectangles etc.

Hi Ran,

There is currently no support to display a wchar for our debugger/compiler.

By the way, are you using gcc to compile your code? I don't know whether TI compiler supports wchar or not.

Nevermind, I've workaround by pre-processing the strings in the GUI javascript, which does support unicode.
