.bak files in project explorer

Hi there,

I am using CCS5.3, apart from .h and .c files there are bunch of .bak files in the project explorer. I want to know how can I get rid of these? I believe I have to change the build path for .bak file in the build setting butI am not sure where to do that in projet properties.

Please help. I have attached a picture of one my my project explorer.

Are the .bak files creating some kind of issue or you just want to get rid of extra unwanted files?

Hi Gautam,

Thanks for the response. You are right I just want to get rid of extra files in project explorer. I don't mind if they are created in the background and does not show up in the main file interface.

Prasoon - you can set a filter for files with a *.bak extension (or any specific extension or name). See the 'Projects' section in the 'Projects and Build Handbook':

Ki-Soo, there is no filter for *.bak file. I however was able to delete the .bak files from windows explorer folder, and rebuilding the project didn't re created those files. It seems those .bak files came from importing legacy ccs3.3 projrct in to ccs5.

Anyways, issue is resolved. Thnks for input though. The page has lots of other useful information that I was not aware of.

There is no specific option for *.bak files. But there is a field where you can enter in a regular expression to filter for any pattern you wish.
