Why are there '\t\ in the disassembly window?

Quite interesting; I don't see this behavior in my setup (v5.5 on Ubuntu 10.04 64-bit). However, at a certain point this was a known bug in Eclipse, as reported in this Bugzilla entry - according to the bug, this was already fixed and will be released in 8.1.2 - CCSv5.5 uses CDT 8.1.1.

In this case I think that release 12.04 64-bits may be the trigger for this display issue, as I don't see it here.

Hi Rafael,

The bugzilla entry is referring to the MI implementation in CDT. CCS doesn't use the MI implementation for TI Debugger. Unless you are using gdb debugger, you won't get the fix from CDT.

Are you testing on the same CGT/TPI setup, i.e same h/w? I don't have this h/w to test and see what is returned by TPI.

I could only test a BeagleBone on a XDS100, but I still don't see the bug.

I was also able to run the same project in a Ubuntu 12.04 32-bit but it also worked fine - i.e., without the \t\.

Both systems are using the Linaro shipped with v5.5.

A little more information. The Ubuntu 12.04 is 32 bit.

Just clarifying what Patrick mentioned: since you are debugging a Linux application using the standard Eclipse debug interface for GDB, the bug I mentioned before is applicable.

In my test I was connecting to the device using a JTAG emulator, and this uses a different debug interface created by TI. This does not have the bug. That is why the replies became somewhat confusing.
