c6748 CCS5 XDS510USB connection issue PRSC failed , -6305

Hi , a customer is trying to use XDS510USB on new board having c6748.

They already tested emulator with zoom board + another custom one

On this new board , despite Emulator test is ok (scan test) + ICEPICK connection ok , it fails with following error

"Error Connecting to the target : Connect to PRSC failed , -6305"

Can you please help with possible reasons for this

1/ Would you know the error type and reason of -6305 ?

2/ anything to check on the hw lines (reset ones, clocking) ?

There were more posts on the PRSC connection failure as well. I would suggest searching the forums for more information too. Let us know how the debug effort proceeds.

we found similar posts , please see some comments :

1/what we want is to understand the -6305 error : we tested with dbjtag but it is not a recognized error - can you please help tell what is the underlying error

2/1st post highlight adding Pull-Up - i can try to push that point (already done) but customer argues athat on another design there is no Pu and it's working well and on top of this c6748 has internall pulls ups ..so hard to maintain position

3/ 2nd post is about software and the CCS + XDS he is using is working well on 2 different boards with c6748 , so no SW issue

The dbgjtag utility does not go as deep into the processor to detect any power issues.

The source of the error can come from a number of hardware-related sources. Searching for "PRSC" in the forums yields several threads that discuss a variety of customers' systems with a common denominator or power or reset issues. In this particular case, the fact the absence of a pull-up did work in one design does not mean it will work in another, as during power up anything can happen. As a general rule keep your lines at a known/desired state during transitions such as resets and power cycles.
