How to use FlashPro430 with Code composer studio (CSS 5.5.0.00077)

Programmer : USB-MSP430-FPA-STD (ELPROTRONIC Flash Programmer)

Target Processor: CC430F5137

IDE : Code composer studio.( Version: 5.5.0.00077 )

We were using MSP430 debug interface form TI, but our hardware needed BSL debug lines ,

then we migrated to FlashPro430 from Electronic.

Now, we are facing a problem with downloading the code through CCS (5.5.0.00077),

Error we are getting : Error initializing emulator:
No USB FET was found

We did not find any compatible option for FlasPro430 in target configuration of CCS.

Please help us : How to solve this issue ?

It is not at all possible to use CCS5 with FlashPro430 ?

Any suggestions / Or work arround ?

Is there any similar debugger from Texas instruments ??

Extra info : Found some answers like ,

Code composer essential will support ELPROTRONIC FlashPro430 programmer, Is that

true ? then which version i can go for ?

yes , I have gone through all these documents, But they are doing it with CCS4.

That's exactly what I'm trying to tell you... CCSv4 and CCSv5 are somewhat based on the same eclipse major, so there shouldn't be any difficulty in following the same steps. If you're facing any issues then please contact Elprotronic for further support cause all you need is the latest MSP430.DLL file from them.

Hi,

I know this is not a TI issue but I didn't know where else to discuss this. I am also trying to get my Elprotronic FlashPro430 working with CCSv5.5. I have tried to replace the msp430.dll with both v2 (600KB) and v3 (1468KB) of the Elprotronic supplied driver but neither are working even after multiple restarts. I just get an error when entering debug mode. Can anybody help? I've contacted Elprotronic but no reply yet.

P.S. Just to clarify, I do not get the same error as the first post above (I did originally until I replaced the DLL). I get this error: "Error initializing emulator: Invalid parameter(s)". Maybe there is an option that I need to enable/disable to make it compatible?

I heard back from Elprotronic in case anyone else is also searching for a solution to this. At the moment CCS 5.xx is not currently supported. They are working on an updated DLL.

Hi,

Just a heads up to any one upgrading to CCS 6, I'm experiencing the same bug as explained by Mark Nolan . I've contacted Elprotronic , yet hear back from them. Hope they fix it as it will be a great help in our development as well as value addition to the product. May be TI can collaborate with Elprotronic in clearing up any changes associated with CCS6 as well.
