cgtools 5.2.3 and segmentation faults

Hi all,

we are using cgtools 5.2.3 and get segmentation faults at different C files for every build. We are doing the build with gnu make, calling the cgtools from the command line (inside make).
The error is

INTERNAL ERROR: c:\ti33\c2000\cgtools_5_2_3\bin\cl2000 experienced a segmentation fault while processing

This is a serious problem. Please contact Customer Support with this message and a copy of the input file and help us to continue to make the tools more robust.

On every build, a different file causes the segmentation fault.
I am now using cgtools 5.2.3, but the error appeared from time to time since my switch from 4.1.3.
I have several different compiler versions installed on my PC for the different projects.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Is this a known bug - and is there a solution?

I have segmentation faults from time to time.. But ONLY with some level of optimizations and it falls on compiling/optimizing same file and function on every Build. Refactoring function's code can help in some situations. Also volatile keyword was used to disable optimizing of some loops(in problem function)....// // I am sorry. Can't format the text. Please send a test case along with the compiler version and compile options to support@ti.com so the codegen team can take a look.

Hi, I experience the same problem with CGT v 5.2.4. Files/code for which it happens change (ir-)regulary. Could you find a general solution to this problem in the meantime? Thanks and regards, Volker

The compiler team was not able to reproduce the segmentation fault with my given testcase.

So I am glad that there is somebody else having trouble with this.

Maybe the compiler team can provide a "debug compiler" that logs additional infos at our site where we can reproduce this fault every day?

Hi Lori, we see the errors independent of the software being built. Namely, building the same code on two different machines with the same CCS and CGT versions installed shows (many of) the error messages in the first and no error at all in the second case.

The same here: same software built on one machine shows segmentation faults on varying files, no error on another machine.
