GUI Composer running incredibly slowly

Hi,

When you say it takes 15 min to load the project, are you referring to the time it takes for your GUI app to start before the image is flash onto your device?

Before you update to GUI Composer 5.5 runtime, what runtime were you using? Can you give me the file name for this .jar file? <install dir>guicomposer/eclipse/plugins/com.ti.gui.composer.common.ui_xyz.jar. Where xyz is the timestamp.

Also, is there any proxy setting changed in your local network or your PC?

Hi,

No i'm taking about the time it takes from selecting View->GUI Composer to being able to select the project. Also when you drop a widget from the palette it takes about 30 seconds for it appear in the design view and about 5 minutes to open the design view. This used to work fine before installing the runtime.

Hi Richard,

The GC runtime and CCS shouldn't interference with each other. We have seen report before for performance due to proxy setting. Since GUI composer is based on browser technology, can you try to see if disabling your proxy setting help to speed things up?

I don't use a proxy. I left GUI composer loading a project all night and it still said loading the next day.

Hi Patrick, after a lot of attempt to repair chromium, I applied this patch also to Linux version (Linux Mint 17.1, 64bit on i7 quad core) , loading time speeded up from few tens of second to one or two second, Both GUI Composer and APPS Center got back to life and everything is much more faster.
