Hi,

I'm using OMAP L138 with jatag xds510 usb

I use ccs v4 to connect the target and load symbol...

But there is an error when i try to enable the OS debuging. (Shown below)

Error: "ARM9_0: Can't initialize TLD Device Driver: A supported Linux image is not detected on the target: No kernel symbols are detected. Please load the vmlinux symbol file and try again."

The image that i build is from Linux windriver (ealf)

Do I need todo any setting ifi use this kind of image?

Hi Ching,

For now, the Linux aware debug in CCs4 only works for Cortex A8, not for ARM9 in OMAP-L138. Please see:

In CCSv4.0 Linux Aware debug is only supported on Cortex A8 based devices. We are working on ARM9 support but it is not yet available.

Hi Mariana,

Thanks for your reply.

I have try the step that provided by link.

After i have load the symbol, then connect to the target,, but i still can't see any update of the call stack .

The symbol I use is from the linux windriver's build (vmlinux.out).

Ching,

If you are using the OMAP L138, the Linux aware debug will not work with the current CCS version. You need to wait until CCS supports it.

If you are using OMAP3 let me know.

Is there a time line for when Linux aware debugging in the OMAP-L138 will be supported? What about the AM1808?

Support for the ARM9 of the L138 (actually for ARM9 in general) will be available in a coming update of CCSv4. I don't have an exact schedule but it should be in one of the next few updates.

Would it be possible to make a post here when a version of CC with the support for the ARM9 will be released? Or maybe it is already available?

According to the Linux Aware Debug wiki page, CCSv4.1.3 (still in beta evaluation) supports ARM926.

This release should be out in a few weeks if I am not mistaken.
