Hi to everybody,

I'm having problems while trying to debug TI example projects (sprc876) for the TMS320C28346 Delfino.

I'm using CCS v.4.0.1.01001 and a Spectrum Digital XDS510USB Plus JTAG emulator with the TMS320C28346 and the Delfino C28346 DIM168 Experimenter's Kit (TMDXDOCK28346-168). The whole system seems to work fine until the "debug" session starts (compiling and building work ok), at this point CCS crashes and I'm getting the following window:

I've tried this setup on 4 different PCs and worked on only one of them (with some minor problems); on the other three it has exactly the same behaviour.

The weird thing is that working in the same environment with the TMS320F2808 processor (XDS510USB Plus + CCS v.4.0.1.01001) everything works fine on all PCs and with several different projects. Everything works ok also with the eZdsp2808 board.

Anyone can help me out in solving this?

Hi Enrico,

CCS appears to have crashed, hence some crash dump files should have been generated. Could you attach them to this thread?

I am having the same problem with the Blackhawk USB2000 emulator and the MS320C28346 and the Delfino C28346 DIM168 Experimenter's Kit (TMDXDOCK28346-168). I am using the same Code Composer version as the above post.

My problem comes when I try to connect the target for debugging.

I have also attached my dump files.

Thanks Gavin. The crash seems to be related to the Flash Programmer. We will investigate this. Are you using Windows XP?

I've also been working on Windows XP, SP3.

I won't get access to the PC I have CCStudio until monday, I'll post my dump files and my error log too on that day.

Hi Ki,

approximately, when is this service release going to be published? Will I find it on the CCStudio v.4 TI.com page (Support software) or can I just run "Help -> Software Updates -> Find and Install" from the CCS v.4 environment?

Hi Enrico,

We are close to releasing the next service release. I'd say in another week or so. You can update v4 using the Eclipse update manager as you described.

Hello,

CCS 4.0.2, which has a fix for this issue, has been officially released. Both an incremental update for 4.0.1 via Eclipse Update manager ('Help->Software Updates->Find and Install...->Search for updates of the currently installed features') and full 4.0.2 install are available.
