Hello,

I have a TMDSEVM6657LS and a TMDSEVM6657LE. The LS variant uses a XDS200, and the LE uses a XDS560v2.

I'd like to debug both of these cards at the same time using code composer. Currently, I can debug each of them independently without any issues.

To do this, I created a new Target Configuration File. I've attached this file. I had to renamed it to a .xml file because of the forum software.

When I use this target configuration, I get the following error:

C66xx_0: GEL Output: Setup_Memory_Map...
C66xx_0: GEL Output: Setup_Memory_Map... Done.
IcePick_D: Error initializing emulator: (Error -2083 @ 0x0) Unable to communicate with the emulator. Confirm emulator configuration and connections, reset the emulator, and retry the operation. (Emulation package 5.1.232.0)

Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this issue?

Thanks William. I am able to reproduce the problem.

It looks like the XDS200 and the XDS560v2 can conflict with each other. Changing the emulator ports didn't help. I'll need to check to see if it is indeed possible to have both in use at the same time by a single debug session (I would expect it to).

I'm sorry to say that I have confirmed from the driver engineering team that this is a known limitation of using that particular emulator combo. Sorry.

Hello Ki-Soo Lee,

I have a similar thought about multiple debugging. Currently we have a board with a C2000 (F28069M), but we want to add connectivity with a SimpleLink CC2640R2 MCU. Currently I have a XDS220 ISO. If I buy for example a Segger J-Link debugger J-Link ULTRA+, is it possible to debug both MCUs in one session of CCS?

I.e. XDS220 ISO connected through JTAG to F28069M and Segger J-link connected through SW-DP to CC2640R2?

I found out it is possible using regular Eclipse and GDB with two ARM-cores:

Hello Robert,
Theoretically, it should be possible to have simultaneous debugging of two different targets using two different types of debug probes (in most cases). I have not tried this with J-Link, but my expectation is for this to work:

I tried to setup a debug environment with our current hardware C2000 MCU and a CC2640R2 Launchpad (Built in XDS110). Pinned two separate expression tabs on the different debug context for the different MCUs. Is it possible to make exlusive expression windows?

Right now it seems that the expressions have to be the same in both windows, if I remove on expression in window "Expressions <1>", it gets removed in the window "Expression" as well. I didn't find anything regarding this on the wikipage for multi-core debug or multi emulator debug.

This is a known limitation of the Expressions view. There have been enhancement requests made to Eclipse to support this, but they have not been implemented yet
