CCS5.5 does no longer offer 'Empty DSP/BIOS v5.x Project'

Hello Community,

my CCS used to offer me 'Empty DSP/BIOS v5.x Project' as Project Template when creating a new project. Although I changed nothing to the configuration or the PC setup, this option vanished and I have not been able to restore it.

Creating a new workspace and even reinstalling Code Composer did not help.DSP/BIOS 5.42.1.09 is correctly installed and I can still build my existing DSP/BIOS projects without problems. I managed to create a 'new' DSP/BIOS project by importing a legacy CCS3-project which I then cleaned from all settings and files, but that is no real solution.

Does anybody have a suggestion?

As mentioned in the link Gautam referenced, adding a BIOS tcf file will enable BIOS support for the project.

As for why the template is missing, BIOS5 is being deprecated in support. However I am confused if you once had it and then it just disappearing. What device are you using? And you never updated your CCS version (you were always on CCSv5.5)?

We are using the TMS320DM6435
No, I never updated anything, the exact version is 5.5.0.00077

Ok. Strange since we made the change to not offer that template anymore long before 5.5 (and I don't see it in my installation). In any case, that is expected behavior. We don't offer an empty BIOS5 template anymore and all the available BIOS5 templates are fixed examples under 'DSP/BIOS v5.xx Examples'.

In any case, you can still add a tcf file to an empty standard project and that will turn it into a BIOS5 project.

This is a solution, but an inefficient one, as I mostly only need the include path variables to be defined ("${TCONF_OUTPUT_DIR}", "${TCONF_OUTPUT_DIR}", "${RTDX_INCLUDE_DIR}"), manually adding and afterwards deleting the tcf is a bit overkill, but okay.
