Problem to connect to the OMAP-L138/C6748 EVM board using CCSv4

Hi,

I followed the instructions suggested in the article "How to connect to the OMAP-L138/C6748 EVM board using CCS" but when I try to start a debug session, the following screen appears:

I have a MCUN01D licence file.

But when I try to select my licence file, it appears

I try to connect both with XDS100 USB Emulator and XDS510USB but the problem is the same.

What is the problem?

Francesco,

It seems that the license you have is for the Microcontroller version of CCSv4, thus it does not support OMAPL1x and C674x targets.

For supported targets on each release please check the page below:

http://tiexpressdsp.com/index.php/Download_CCS

You may want to install the full version in another machine, since it allows the use of XDS100 emulator for the OMAPL1x and C674x targets.

Since I'm working white OMAP-L138 Experimenter Kit, I get the free license to use XDS100. So it work now only with XDS100 on board.

Hi Francesco,

There is a known issue where the MCU license was not working correctly with earlier versions of CCSv4.1. The current version available for download should not have this issue.

Francesco,

I noticed that you are using OMAPL138 and wish to use the bundled license. But it looks like you have a MCU node locked license. Are you sure you have a bundled license?

Hi Ki-Soo,

I have a Zoom™ OMAP-L138 eXperimenter Kit and a CCSv4 CD with the following TI description: "Code Composer Studio IDE- Microcontroller - Node Locked Single User (N01)". I also have a Spectrum Digital XDS510 emulator that I used with CCSv3.3.

But with this licence can't I use any emulator?

Francesco,

Your license only allows you to connect to an MSP430 or C2000 target. The L138 has an ARM and C674x. Neither is supported by the microcontroller license. You'll need a full platinum license if you wish to use the OMAP L138 with your XDS510USB emulator.
