The status of standalone simulator load6x

Hi!

There is a standalone simulator provided with the Linux version of CGT for C6000 called load6x (load6xexe to be correct). As far as I understand it simulates C6201 core and requires pretty old version of shared C++ runtime which is not available in the recent distors. Moreover, this tool tends to coredump on certain distors with unknown reason. Is this tool being developed or it is discontinued? Will it support recent kernels (C64x or C64x+) in the near future?

Hi Max,

load6x tool is not supported anymore. If you interested in simulating the C64x+ Core then we do have C64x+ CPU simulator in the CCS, which you can use. Hi Manivannan,

Thanks for the reply. I know that CSS supports simulation for the recent cores. But the key point is Linux. AFAIK, there is no CSS for Linux, but when the first beta versions of CCS4 were anounced there were some rumors of upcoming Linux support since CCS4 is based on Eclipse. Does TI still have plans about future Linux support for CCS?

Hi Max,

Yes, We do have plans to support Linux and CCSv4 will be available on Linux platform. We will be announcing the CCSv4 Linux version soon & it will support C64x+ simulators.

Also we have plans to support Linux in the future. C64x+ simulator is already supported.
