Graph Y Axis

On a time graph how do I set the Y axis limits. I do not want auto-scale but to set the limits manually?

CCS 5.5

  • Gautam, I don't see anything there about setting the Y axis scales?  R

  • Roger,

This is a request done a while ago (check this post), and I could verify it was implemented in an internal build of CCSv6 to be released soon.

  • Ah ---  very good at long last for this primitive basic functionality!

And does the dual time axis plot work in the new version too?

    Roger

PS) And what does it do when Ymax < Ymin per your example, draws the graph inverted I hope?

  • Roger,

I am unaware of any functional issues with the dual time graph. Anything in particular?

BTW, I did not spot the invalid values of the Y-axis. No, they don't invert the graph.

  • Rafael,

On my system if I invoke a dual time graph it throws up 2 windows one for graph A & one for graph B. Surely such a graph would have 2 plots on one sheet? And to make it useable to have 2 sets of axes allowed for somehow?

I can do 2 graphs in 2 windows without using dual time graphs.

Seems to me the graphing stuff needs a complete revamp?

Also by the way if I close CCS & restart it tends to lose what the graph was all about, but still shows a blank window where the graph used to be. Closing that window & it still reopens when I restart CCS sometimes?

  • Roger,

The behavior of the dual graph is the same since legacy versions (CCSv1.0, if I recall correctly), and I agree it is similar as opening two single time graphs.

CCS saves the arrangement and contents of views when a debug session is terminated, but if I recall correctly the graph view is usually closed between CCS start/restart (I can reproduce that consistently). The times where I saw the graph (and other views) lingering were tied to an imperfect CCS shutdown (crash/lockup, etc.).

The solution to help streamline the graph parameter input is the Export/Import buttons at the bottom of the graph properties.
