Chris,
The Acresso/Macrovision software we are using for licensing allows for many different license models including tying the license to various hardware. In our implementation we have tried to keep it simple by tying node locked licenses to a MAC address of network devices.
Are you moving between a number of different computers? When you generate a license you can specify 2 different MAC addresses. Really if you are running on more than 2 machines you need to be using a floating license.

John,
We want to move between an office computer and a lab computer. The engineer would not be on both machines at the same time.
The problem I have is that our servers are NT4, and if we need a license server then we have to find one with a minimum of Windows Server 2000 for FLEXnet.
Do you use counted or uncounted licences for node locked licensing ? If they are uncounted (no license server needed) then that seems the best for us.
I assume in the case that a machine has multiple MAC addresses (LAN, WiFi etc) then any one can be specified for that machine, they do not all need to be added to the license file ?
thanks for your help,
Chris.
Yes, you only need to specify one of the MAC address. If you are just moving between the same office computer and same lab computer, then a node-locked license should work fine as you can specify a MAC address from each machine in the license file and use the same file for both machines.

I think you need to select "Re-host a license".
