Opening Kernel view causes CCS 3.3 plat to crash

Some more information: CCS version 3.3.82.10. Running code on an F2808 using an XDS510LC emulator. The attached zip file contains the crash dump and the executable loaded on the device that caused the crash

Can you comment out pieces of code in order to get it down to something that runs with out crashing?  That would help narrow down the issue.

CCS/KOV doesn't check for this to prevent CCS from crashing? Should I report that as a bug in CCS?

I obviously can't use the KOV to check for a stack overflow, so I tried using method 2 in the wiki. I get the following compile error:

"tsk_switch_dbg.c", line 38: error: argument of type "LOG_Obj far *" is incompatible with parameter of type "LOG_Handle"

Another tidbit that's interesting. If I open the KOV first before I've loaded anything into the chip, it opens fine. When I open the Flash Programmer, it runs fine while the FLASH is programmed, but as soon as it begins to load the RAM it crashes.

The CCS gel file generally sets up a memory map of "legal addresses".  That would prevent the emulator from reading addresses it's not supposed to read.  Are you using a gel file that configures a memory map?  If not, I highly recommend doing so as that will improve the stability of CCS by preventing this type of issue (if this is the reason for your crash that is).

I'm using the default F2808.gel file that CCS comes with (attached). A cursory glance indicates that the gel file is properly configuring the memory map for the F2808.
