Profile clock function and pipeline

Hi,

when I am using F283x simulator every assembler instruction take 6 cycles to execute measured by profile clock function.

The instruction set data sheet  says that "normal" instructions take 1 cycle to execute.

Question: does the simulator involve pipelining? If not, that seems as a rational explanation for 6 cycles per instruction.

Or there is other explanation?
