CCS V5 and CCS V6 floating license

Hi,

We have upgraded our CCS floating license from V5 to V6 and therefore got a new license file (TMDSCCS-ALLF03-v6.lic).

Is it possible to have two license server running (one for CCS V5 and one for CCS V6)? The problem is that some people in our company are still working with CCS V5 and some want to switch to CCS V6 because they start a new project. Best solution would be to still have only 3 floating licenses but one can choose CCS V5 or CCS V6.

A similar question was discussed here: http://e2e.ti.com/support/development_tools/code_composer_studio/f/81/t/200435.aspx

But I don't know how to set two license files for one server  in LMTOOLS. I can only point to one license file.

Thanks and best regards,

Patrick

  • Hi Patrick,

The newly generated CCS v6 license can be used with CCS v5. So even if you've a CCS v6 license file; just point to that file from CCS v5.5. You should still be able to work.

  • Hi Patrick,

as Gautam mentions the license you moved to will still function with v5.   Note no licenses were added so you would still have the exact same setup.   Ie you are exactly as before only with a license that now allows v6.  Does that clarify?  I don't think you would be able to segregate your license as you only seem to have one.

    Hope this helps.
