The RTSC platform edit failed when the CCS6 is installed

Hi Champions,

I used the CCS5.5.0.00077 in my laptop, I installed the CCSv6 today, when I edit the RTSC platform with CCS5.5 or CCS6, it's no response. The RTSC edit works well if only CCS5.5 is installed, any software conflict?

  • Zhan,

I am able to edit my custom platforms from CCSv5.5 even with v6 installed. However, I am unable to do so with v6.

The detail is that I installed v5.5 and v6 in completely different directories (instead of the default c:\ti). I am using XDC 3.25.3.72 in v5.5 (configured in menu Window --> Preferences --> Code composer Studio --> RTSC). That recognizes my custom platforms.

CCSv6 comes with fundamentally different components that may cause some confusion. The XDC tools provided are a smaller, reduced set called "core" and the SYSBIOS takes care of most of the platform definitions. Maybe that is causing the RTSC platform configuration to be thrown off.

I will check some additional resources and see why this is happening.

    Regards,

    Rafael

  • Zhan,

I was given the information this is a known bug that was found right after the CCSv6 release and is already fixed starting with XDC tools release 3.30.02, which will be available as a standalone download in the next few weeks.

However, Grace 3.0ß will install this XDC version and will be available sooner (end of this week if everything goes well), therefore you will have access to this fix sooner if you also install Grace 3.0ß. This will be available at the CCS App Center (menu View --> CCS App Center --> Add on software) by the date it is released.

Just for your reference, please check the official SYS/BIOS CCSv6 migration guide:

    Hope this helps,

  • Hello,

I think there is still a bug (433961) in the XDC platform wizzard and platform selection in the build options.

I have installed CCSv5.5 and CCSv6.0 in separate folder. With CCSv5.5 I can select my custom platforms in the build options placed in my separate folder and I can also edit this platforms with the platform wizzard.

With CCSv6.0 it doesn't work, because the platform are not found. I have tested this with XDC 3.24.03.33 and the newest XDC 3.30.02.44.

    Thanks, Milan
