BH-USB2000 error with 28335EZDSP kit

I have 28335ezdsp kit from spectrum digital. i have been programming it using the usual usb interface. now i have purchased a BH-USB2000 jtag emulator. i have installed the drivers and selected the proper device using CCS setup. but wjile connecting to CCS it gives me an error message of

"Unable to find the appropirate registry key for TMS320C28xx

Target Driver: C:\CCStudio_v3.3\drivers\bhemu28xdvr. "

Unfortunately I don't know what has gone wrong with the install. Have you checked with BH?

Pankaj,

I suspect that you are using a limited CCS 3.3 version that came bundled with the kit. Is this the case? Can you check the CCS version in 'Help->About'?

i saw a post which says "you may be using older version of ccs"

i have installed the CCS which came with spectrum digital CD.

I believe that version is a CCS DSK version. I think you need a full version of CCS to use your BH emulator with the eZDsp kit.

I have reinstalled the CCS. Now when I run the BlackHawk Setup i get a TI USCIF version error.

TI USCIF Installed version : v35.23.10.2 Update required: v35.24.0.3

PLease let me know where i can get it updated

hi,

USB-2000 got successfully connected to CCS 3.3.

but It is unable to connect to DSP--

Error connecting to the target:
Error 0x80000240/-203
Fatal Error during: Initialization, OCS,
This error was generated by TI's USCIF driver.

SC_ERR_TBC_COMPATIBLE <-203>
The test bus controller is not compatible with the installed software.

I/O Port = 0

Board Name: Blackhawk USB2000 - F28335 Controller
Cpu Name: TMS320C2800_0

Abort:        Close Code Composer Studio.
Retry:        Try to connect to the target again.
Cancel:        Remain disconnected from the target
Diagnostic:    Run diagnostic utility.

How can resolve this?

Pankaj,

You can get updates from the Blackhawk site www.blackhawk-dsp.com. Each update should be marked with a USCIF version. You need the one that matches the one that you have installed with CCS. It looks to me, like CCS has an older revision of USCIF than the installed blackhawk revision. Since you reinstalled CCS, you probably need to add the Service release that gets you up to the blackhawk version.

I got it connected. Updated the CCS adn USCIF version to 35.xx.xx finally the BHUSB2000 got connected to ezDSP kit.Now my CCS is upto date.
