installing ccs 6.0, will I lose my ccs 5.x license ?

Hi,

I got an email from TI, announcing the release of CCS 6.0 and brief instruction on how to install the new 6.0.

My question is : in order to install ccs6.0 I need to re-Host my CCS 5.x license. Will it leave my installed 5.x unusable ?

Or can I use both of them after installing 6.0 ?

Hi,

v6 does require a new license. If you have an active subscription and got the email, it seems you might be eligible to simply uprgrade your license. As an example:

Go to www.ti.com/myregisteredsoftware
Find your row for TMDSCCS-ALLF03-v5
Click MANAGE and then click UPGRADE – GET NEW LICENSE
Click E-mail license - you will receive two (2) emails: Instructions and License File with attachment (.lic)
You MUST follow these instructions to save this new License File (.lic) before you can use your upgraded version 6
You can download the CCSv6 image at: http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Download_CCS

A v6 license will replace your v5 license. v5 will still work and can run with the v6 license. You may have both versions in parallel.
