Uploading code to mcu without debugging (CCSv6)

Hi,

Sorry for the stupid question, but I just cannot find that anywhere - how do I upload the code onto the chip/board?

The only way I found was to click on the "Debug" icon, but isn't there a way to just upload without debugging? I'm using CCS v6.

Hello Lacho,

The Debug icon is used to (a) connect to the CPU, (b) download the code and (c) set the debug window for source code. Any IDE would do the steps a--b-c. However if your intent is to only do a-b then you can use the TI UNIFLASH application which will allow you to do so without going into debug mode.

as Amit mentions, you need a flash programmer. What target are you using?

Hi,

I'm using a launchpad tm4c1294xl, I'm now testing the flash programmer that Amit posted, but for my purposes it may be easier to just hit the debug button :) It's not a big deal, I was just wondering if I'm missing something obvious.

Hello Lacho,

You can also use the LMFlashProgrammer from the TIVA Software Webpage. I have used both UniFlash and LMFlashProgrammer and they work great all the time.
